As an Operational Officer with 28 years of service, I have managed to collect a more than average number of injuries on duty. One of those injuries was kindly given to me when I arrested a wife beater in April 1998, where I received what has become a protracted lower back injury. I won't bore any of you with details but as a result of this injury I have seen truck-fulls of Osteopaths, Chiropractors and Physiotherapists. Some of whom seek nothing more than to make a few good joint cracking noises and take the money.
Since March of this year I have been seing Izzel Barbosa. I cannot say enough good things about this man. How about considerate, able, effective, professional, patient and A1 fantastic to name just a few attributes. People like this are hard to find...
Mr Adrian N
I have been under the care of Izzel for approx 8 weeks being treated for a shoulder injury sustained on duty early this year. I was initially seen by National Health care practitioners who incorrectly diagnosed my injury. This allowed me to continue on exacerbating the injury until I could no longer cope with the pain and discomfort.
Following referral by JT, I visited Izzel who very quickly and correctly identified my injury. He outlined a course of treatment and fully explained everything that was to happen. Izzel's manner, professionalism, knowledge and people skills made me feel comfortable, hopeful and inspired me with confidence.
As each session progressed, I felt both physically and mentally better and I firmly believe that this has allowed me to continue working without taking any time off sick with the injury. Izzel used a combination of therapies and was consistent with the level of service throughout. I had originally been given a prognosis of up to 6 months, based on the pain and lack of mobility that I presented with. However, I have now been signed back to full duties and I have no pain at all with my strength improving almost daily. My quality of life is improving, with sleep being less disturbed.
I have had many sporting injuries in the past, seen many different therapists and had a lot of lengthy recovery periods. I was worried that I would go through a repeat of it all again but I could not have been any further from the truth.
Mr Will H
I would like to commend to you the excellent work of Izzel Barbosa [...]
In August 2000 I received whiplash injuries in a car accident. I had received some treatment in the way of painkillers from my GP in addition to three visits to an NHS Physiotherapist. Not having had any physiotherapy before I did not know then what I was or was not getting. I was left with pain and discomfort that would not go away.
Subsequently, I was advised by Mr B A&E Consultant at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital to seek help from your department and as a result started a course of treatments with Izzel. It very quickly became apparent that Izzel knew his business very well and I am glad to say that having finished the treatment I am very close to my pre accident level of mobility and comfort.
It is obvious to me that without the quality of his treatment I would not have made such a good recovery. It goes without saying that getting rid of the pain allows me to enjoy life and be efficient at work.
